FAQ

1. What is Eyecare Express USA?

Eyecare Express USA is Florida’s premier mobile optometry provider, offering comprehensive eye exams and eyewear services directly within retirement residences and long-term care communities. Our team of licensed Optometrists and Opticians is dedicated to delivering convenient, high-quality eye care to residents who may face challenges accessing traditional clinics.

Already have an Optometrist? We’re here to offer a more convenient and accessible solution for all your eye care needs right where you live. Our services include:

  • Comprehensive on-site eye exams
  • Refractions and prescription updates, along with ongoing monitoring for ocular health concerns such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye
  • Specialized care for residents with mobility challenges, dementia, or other cognitive conditions
  • Eyewear selection at affordable prices, with fitting by a licensed Optician during the visit
  • On-site dispensing and adjustments of prescription glasses for maximum comfort and convenience

Prescription glasses are typically delivered within 2–3 weeks of the clinic date. Upon arrival, a licensed Optician ensures proper fitting and adjustments for optimal comfort and vision.

We specialize in evaluating patients with dementia and other cognitive conditions using objective testing methods. This approach allows us to accurately assess vision and ocular health, even when a patient is unable to communicate or respond to traditional, subjective questions.

Yes. We actively encourage collaboration with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to help ensure the resident’s comfort and deliver the highest quality care during their exam.

Eye exams are typically covered by Medicare for eligible patients, including seniors residing in retirement or long-term care communities. A set fee applies for the refraction portion of the exam. For added convenience, we are affiliated with most major third-party insurance providers and offer direct billing for both eyeglasses and additional optometry-related services. There is no cost to the facility for hosting our mobile clinic.

We proudly serve a wide range of retirement and long-term care communities throughout the region. To confirm if we visit your area or to request a clinic at your facility, please contact us directly.

We typically return to each facility every six months to provide follow-up care and accommodate new patients. However, we’re happy to schedule additional visits sooner if needed.

Absolutely. Even if you have Macular Degeneration or significant vision loss, it’s still worthwhile to attend a clinic. Regular eye exams help monitor disease progression, manage symptoms, and identify any changes that may benefit from updated prescriptions, low vision aids, or referrals to specialists. Our goal is to support your eye health and quality of life, no matter the level of vision you have.

Booking is easy! You can reach us through our website at www.eyecareexpressUSA.com or by calling us directly. We’ll work with your facility to coordinate a convenient clinic date.

If a clinic is already scheduled at your location, please contact the facility staff to reserve your appointment. For new facilities interested in setting up a clinic, simply reach out through our “Contact Us” page. We’d be happy to help.

Yes! We bring a wide selection of frames to each clinic, allowing residents to try them on and choose their favorites. Our licensed professionals and eyewear stylists are on hand to assist with proper fitting and offer personalized style recommendations.

Absolutely. If any adjustments or follow-up care are needed, we’ll coordinate a return visit or provide remote support as appropriate ensuring each patient receives the continued care they need.

Our Optometrists will assess whether a referral to an Ophthalmologist is necessary. If so, we’ll coordinate a consultation with the nearest ophthalmology clinic, whether it’s for cataract surgery or any other medical concern identified during the exam.
